DE | Blues, Prog- & Psychedelic Rock
Crimson Roots are a blues-inspired progressive and psychedelic rock band from Nuremberg, Germany. The band brings together classic rock roots, progressive songwriting, psychedelic atmosphere, and a strong focus on live performance. Their sound is not built around one strict genre, but around songs that can move between blues-driven parts, heavier sections, extended instrumental moments, and more open, atmospheric passages.
Their debut album Open Roads was released through Tonzonen Records and marks the first full statement of the band’s identity. Written, recorded, and produced by the band themselves, the album follows the idea of movement, distance, change, and finding your own way. It is not a concept album in a strict theatrical sense, but more a journey through different moments and states of mind, with the road as a central image running through the record. Following the release, Open Roads received attention from print and online rock media, including Classic Rock Magazin, Eclipsed, GoodTimes, RockTimes, Curt München, Rockblog Bluesspot and SLAM. The album also gained first airplay through independent and regional radio formats.
They have performed across Germany, shared stages with international acts such as Grandma’s Ashes and Hamasari, and are now moving into a wider touring phase.
On stage, Crimson Roots focus on the full band sound rather than a polished studio reproduction. The songs stretch, breathe, and build differently in a live setting, giving space to the vocals, guitar, keys, bass, and drums without losing the core of the songwriting. This has become an important part of the band’s identity: music with roots in the past, but performed with the urgency of a band actively shaping its own path.
