Celebrating the music of THE BLUES BAND
Gary Fletcher, who co-founded The Blues Band with Paul Jones, Tom McGuinness and Dave Kelly and has been a member throughout their long and successful career, has also performed and/or recorded with Peter Green, Maggie Bell, Van Morrison, John Mayall, Long John Baldry, Guy Barker, Bernie Marsden, Micky Moody, Kim Simmonds, Henry McCullough, Zoot Money, Nat Adderley, the Memphis Horns, etc. Gary Fletcher, who wrote some of The Blues Band's best known songs (most notably Greenstuff), only began recording his own songs in the late 1990s. The Official Gary Fletcher Bootleg Album" was the first solo release, followed by Human Spirit", which featured a number of friends as guest musicians, including Bernie Marsden, Micky Moody, Paul Jones, Dave Kelly, Steve Simpson, Mark Feltham and Denis Greaves. He began performing solo concerts in the mid-2000s and later with his full band. By 2009 the band included former Dire Straits drummer Pick Withers, Steve Ling on lead guitar and Jack Fletcher on bass. This line-up released the album "Giant From the Blue" in 2010. With The Blues Band's touring and recording schedule taking up a lot of time, the Gary Fletcher Band's opportunities to tour were limited, but nonetheless the band continued to play festival and club shows when time permitted. With a ton of new material under their belt, Gary began recording his new album 'River Keeps Flowing' and is now going on tour in October!
