Ghalia Volt is a Belgian-born, New Orleans–based guitarist, singer, and songwriter known for delivering raw, groove-heavy Mississippi Hill Country blues with a modern & cutting edge — and for turning live stages into sweat-soaked, hypnotic experiences. Built on deep, trance-inducing rhythms, fuzzed-out guitar lines, and commanding presence, her shows pull audiences in fast and don’t let go.
After relocating to the U.S., Volt immersed herself in the Southern blues circuit for the last decade, recording in Mississippi and Memphis and developing a reputation as a formidable live force with a deep feel for regional styles. Her Ruf Records albums — Let the Demons Out, Mississippi Blend, One Woman Band, and Shout Sister Shout — capture that raw energy, with One Woman Band highlighting her ability to hold a crowd solo through pure groove and momentum. A new album, Burn The House Down, arrives in May 2026 setting up a world tour for 2026 and 2027.
Volt has toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe and has performed at major festivals including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Mammoth Bluesapalooza Telluride Blues and Bilbao Blues Festival, Blues Peer,etc... Whether performing solo or with a full band, she delivers high-energy, trance-driven sets that connect across generations and genres — blues & roots based music that’s physical, loud, and built for the live stage.
